Visiting the Cave of Altamira
At the present time, a study is being made of the conservation conditions inside the Cave of Altamira, so it is NOT possible to visit it.
A multidisciplinary team from the Higher Council of Sientific Research and the Spanisth Historical Heritage Institute is analysing the environmental parameters and microbiological contamination levels in the cave in order to determine its real conservation conditions and establish a new system for visits in future years.
