Museo del Altamira
Workshop
Visitors to Altamira Museum can take part in some of the everyday activities carried out by the inhabitants of Altamira Cave during the Upper Palaeolithic.
For everyone: Prehistoric technology workshops
Hunting workshop
In this workshop the participants learn how to make a spearhead, the Palaeolithic hunting implement, and practise their throwing skills by trying to hunt a bison.
Fire workshop

The participants learn different
techniques for making fire: by rubbing sticks of wood or by the percussion of
stones. They will also make a bone-marrow lamp, like the ones used by the inhabitants
of Altamira Cave.
Children's workshops: Altamira for school children

- Primary: Second stage: A balanced diet: We'll talk about the food eaten during the Upper Palaeolithic, which provided a varied and balanced diet.
- Primary: Third stage: The first artists: An approach to Prehistoric Art, through learning about artistic techniques and experimenting with different materials.
